Mr. James V. Gilles wrote me a note in April 2008 to tell me that he had purchased an old book (entitled Slippy McGee by Marie Conway Oemler 1921 ed) that apparently belonged to Frances Thord-Gray of Gray Court, Belle Haven, Greenwich, CT.

Says James:

"To my surprise, there was an old photo in the book with the following inscription: 'Patty, a faithful Italian gardener who brought beauty to Gray Court, Belle Haven, Greenwich, Connecticut, for many years.'"
