Deed from Joseph Douglass to Lot Larkham
Voluntown, CT. Jan. 20, 1795

January 20,1795 land deed to Lot Larkham of Voluntown from Joseph Douglass of Voluntown. Lot Larkham purchased
  84 acres of land in Voluntown from Joseph Douglass for 5 pounds.

  Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Douglass of Voluntown in the County of Windham State of Connecticut
  for and in Consideration of Five pounds Lawfull money to me in hand received of Lot Larkham of Sd Voluntown the
  receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge is to my full satisfaction. Have Remised, Released, and Do hereby forever
  acquit all my right and Title unto and Interest in one certain Tract or parcel of Land Lying & being in Sd Voluntown
  bounded as follows. Beginning at a Rock marked V thence runing west Eighty four rods, to a Chesnut tree with stones
  about, and is in Length from North to South One hundred Sixty rods Containing about Eighty four Acres, with all my
  right Title and Interest in any or all the Lands belonging to the Heir of M. John W. Winthrop Late of New London Dec
  that by in 5d Voluntown And I the Sd Joseph Douglass do by these presents for my self my heirs Executors &
  Administrators forever Acquit all my right title and Interest that I now have or ever had to all the above named &
  Described Lands unto him the Said Lot Larkham his heirs & assigns forever - So that the Sd Lot Larkham, his heirs and
  Assigns may forever peaceably enjoy the same without molestation from me the Sd Joseph Douglass or my heirs or
  any person claiming any right to any of Sd Lands by from or under me In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
  and seal this 20th day of January A. D. 1795.

  sealed to the within written Instrument and acknowledged the same to be his free act & Deed before me
  Allen Campbell Justice of Peace
