STURGIS, John, Sr., late of Fairfield, will dated Mch. 12, 1729/30, probated Jan. 5, 1743/4, mentioned his wife Abigail, deeds of gift to his sons and daughters, viz: John, Benjamin, Ebenezer, Eleazer, Elnathan, Margery, Mary, Dorothy and Elizabeth, and confirmed the same, daughter Abigail Gregory. Executrix his wife Abigail. Witnesses David Ogden, Benjamin Sherwood, and Major Andrew Burr, page 184. Inventory taken Jan. 27. 1743/4, by John Bedient and David Ogden, page 186.


STURGIS, Jonathan, late of Fairfield, will dated Oct. 13, 1742, probated May 9, 1744, mentioned his wife Jerusha, and daughter Sarah Wife of Lothrop Lewis, grandson Ebenezer Wakeman, Jonathan Lewis, and Sturgis Lewis, son in law Lothrop Lewis, and granddaughter Sarah Lewis. Executor son in law Lothrop Lewis. Witnesses Thomas Hill, Thaddeus Burr, and Andrew Burr. Appeal taken by his widow, page 229. Inventory taken June 5, 1744, by John Osburn, Samuel Burr and Samuel Sturgis, and filed June 8, 1744, page 230. Additional inventory taken Dec. 18, 1745, page 303.


STURGIS, Mary, late of Fairfield, will dated July 9, 1746, probated July 22, 1746, mentioned her son Benjamin Sturgis, Jr., daughters Esther wife of William Hill, Abigail wife of Samuel Osburn, Jane wife of James Smedley, Deborah Wife of Thomas Staples, other children not mentioned, and granddaughter Mary Dimon. Executor son in law James Smedley. Witnesses John Arnold and Andrew Burr, page 356. Inventory taken July 25, 1746, by Samuel Sturgis and Stephen Jennings, and filed Oct. 6, 1747, page 426.


SUMMERS, Henry, late of Stratford, will dated Feb. 27, 1740/41, probated Dec. 3, 1745, all to his wife Sarah, and appointed her executrix. Witnesses Theophilus Nickols, Stephen Treadwell, and Jabez Summers, page 292.
