NEWMAN,
William. late of Stamford, will dated June 18, 1676, probated Sept. 7, 1676, mentioned his wife Elizabeth and children Thomas, Daniel, John, * who died before probate of will), Sarah, Elizabeth, and Hannah. Executors his wife and sons Daniel and John. Will proved before John Holly, Commissioner, by John Green who testified as to the truth of the will, page 18.
Inventory taken Sept. 7, 1676, by Francis Bell and Peter Ferris, and filed Sept. 7, 1676, page 20.
Sept. 7, 1676, agreement between the aforesaid heirs Witnesses Daniel Weed and Jonas Weed, page 19.

NICHOLS, Caleb, Sr., Mch. 10 1684/5, freed by the court from traying, page 167.

NICHOLLS, John, late of Stratford inventory taken May 2, 1676, by John Curtis, Henry Wakeling, Thomas Ufford, and John Wels, verified by Isaack Nicholls, a brother of deceased, the estate owed Isaack Nicholls and William Roberts, and Thomas Wels and John Stone owed the estate, filed in 1677, page 24.

NICOLES, Jonathan, late of Stratford, Nov. 1, 1689. letters of administration on his estate granted to his widow. Isreal Chancy, Samuel Hally (Hawly), and Josiah Nicoles overseers, page 294.
Inventory taken Oct. 28, 1689, by John Burdsey and Benjamin Peet, mentioned his widow, no name (afterwards married Sergeant Samuel Ward), and children Jonathan, ae. 2 yrs; Josiah, ae.7 yrs; and Mary, ae. 4 yrs, filed Nov. 1, 1689, page 293.

NORTON, Peter, late of Fairfield, July 5, 1687, Hugh Griffen of Norwalk married the widow of deceased, and she died in Fairfield, said Hugh Griffen is of Orineake in the town of Stratford, and being administrator of the above estate, agreed to give Abigail Norton and Mary Norton, the only children and heirs at law of deceased, an equal portion with his daughters, and thereupon said Abigail and Mary discharged said Hugh Griffen from any claims in their fathers's estate. Mary Norton and Abigail Norton by John Burr and Daniel Burr., Witnesses Titus Hinman and Bathsheba Hinman, page 225 and 226.
