George Slawson came to America with his brother Thomas in 1636 probably aboard a ship called "Jonah." They were born in Southwark, England. He first went to Sandwich, MA, where he married a woman no one has been able to identify. He was in Stamford in1642. He lived on the east side of South Street, which is now called Atlantic Street. He was an important man in Stamford.

Descendants of George Slawson--This is a text file I transcribed from "The Slawson, Slosson, Slason, Slauson Family" by George C. Slawson and other sources. I tried to verify records wherever I could. It includes nine generations of Slawsons (including all variations of spelling) from Fairfield County.

Barbour Index Entries for Stamford Slawsons--This text file contains the births, marriages and deaths of Slawsons in Stamford between 1641 and 1853. The Barbour Index entries are alphabetized by first name.
