Daniel and Richard Scofield came to Americain 1635 aboard the Susan and Ellen. They were born in Rochdale, England. Daniel was in Stamford in 1641 and his brother Richard followed in the early 1650s. They lived on the west side of West Street, which is now called Washington Blvd. Daniel was active in town politics and was marshall in 1658.
